HOW TO MAKE MICKEY MOUSE OREO CHRISTMAS COOKIES
This is an easy process to set up a little assembly line and you will be done creating these sweet treats before you know it.
You may want to double your batch of Mickey Christmas Cookies because they will be a hit.
These cookies are great for kids to make and assemble if you have everything ready. Consider making these for:
- family holiday fun night
- bake sales
- elementary schools
- Christmas parties
STEP ONE: MELT CANDY
Place the red candy melts into a microwave-safe bowl and melt per the directions on the package.
Be careful not to overheat. However, if you do overheat the candy melts you can add 1 tbsp of vegetable oil to help emulsify the chocolate again.
Repeat the process with the green candy melts.
Place the melted green candy melts into a piping bag with a small round decorating tip.
STEP TWO: DIP COOKIES
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Dip the bottom ½ of the large OREO cookies into the red candy melts and set on the prepared baking sheet to harden.
STEP THREE: ADD EARS
Place a line of green candy melt on the bottom of two of the mini OREO cookies and immediately place on the top of a large OREO cookie, one on either side to make ears.
STEP FOUR: DECORATE
Now add sprinkles to the cooling dipped red chocolate on the main body of the cookie.
Add lines of green candy melts as decoration on the midline above the red, if desired.
You can “glue” the edible bow icing decorations to the space between the ears on some of the cookies, using the green candy melts. This will transform some of the cookies into Minnie Mouse!
STEP FIVE: SET
Place the baking sheet of cookies in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to allow the candy melts to set completely.
