CHRISTMAS SCRAPBOOK LAYOUTS
Twinkling lights, smiling faces, gifts, church programs, hot cocoa….the photo opportunities are endless when December begins. Be sure to keep your phone ready to document every minute of merriness.
Scrapbooking Christmas events is one of my favorite things to do. The more glitz and glitter the better! I love how the holiday paper lines have begun to think outside the box and are incorporating new colors schemes. It doesn’t have to always be red and green anymore.
WHAT TO DOCUMENT DURING THE HOLIDAYS
There are always the basic Christmas layouts….Christmas Eve and Christmas day. But there are so many other things happening this time of year that will be fun to get in the album.
Here are some things you may want to capture on film:
- School Christmas Programs
- Volunteering during the holidays
- Christmas movie nights
- Snow angels
- Area Christmas light displays
- Caroling
- Church programs
- Drinking hot cocoa
- Decorating the Christmas tree and house
- Making Christmas cookies
PINK AND RED CHRISTMAS LAYOUT
I love adding pink into the layouts I create for my girls. It goes so well with red and green! This double-page layout features background paper that has all sorts of Christmas trees in pinks, reds and greens. There is overlapping pink and red present cardstock on each outer side.
The layout features four photos. The green narrow strips are actually a ½ inch glitter ribbon that I secured using double-sided adhesive roll.
DECK THE HALLS CHRISTMAS LAYOUT
We always take an evening to decorate our Christmas tree as a family. This is the kick-off to the Christmas season for us!
This double-page layout has white cardstock as the base. I cut one-inch strips of various coordinating Christmas cardstock. Then I cut the strips into banners on one end and placed them right next to each other.
The layout features five vertical 4×6 photos. I embellished it with cards from the paper collection. This is a great way to use up scrap paper.
GAME PLAY LAYOUT
We always have a big Christmas Eve party with extended family. It is a time to visit, play games, and even have a special visitor stop by. This particular year, everyone was playing games, and it deserved its own layout.
The double-page Christmas scrapbook layout features light green polka dots on the background cardstock. Four horizontal 4×6 photos are matted on red cardstock.
I created a large title on my Cricut that just says, “Game Play”. The diamond strips are ribbon. I added a journaling box so I could remember the details of that night.
OPENING PRESENTS CHRISTMAS SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT
Light blue and light green are the featured colors of this double-page layout. The background paper is a basic checkered paper.
The photos are matted on light green cardstock. Each side features a sticker that says, “opening presents”. I embellished the layout with coordinating buttons.
HEY SANTA SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT
This one-page layout documents a visit to see Santa at our small-town Christmas celebration. The layout uses a coordinating Christmas paper and sticker collection, which made it fast and easy to put together since everything was already matched up for me.
Two photos are matted on green cardstock. I embellished them with stickers from the collection.
