Below you will find 100 – yep, ONE HUNDRED – Christmas movies and specials that I have personally watched and recommend.
Since this is a personal list of recommendations, you will likely be surprised by some inclusions as well as omissions. Now don’t get me wrong – you are certain to find many favorites and undeniable classics.
That being said, I am often drawn to lesser known movies that never get talked about that much. I am hoping you will find some titles here you haven’t seen – perhaps never even heard of.
So, if you’re looking for HOME ALONE, you won’t find it here – I’m not a fan. If you’re looking for THE SANTA CLAUSE, I’ve never really had the desire to see it.
You will also probably find some titles here that you will question if they should be included on a list of Christmas movies. The definition of a CHRISTMAS MOVIE will never be definitively answered!
Some of my choices may not be obvious, and I admit that in addition to the 5-star classics, you will also find some guilty pleasures and some good but not necessarily great viewing experiences. I have also tried to include as many different genres as possible – family, comedy, drama, animated, LGBTQIA, horror, action, religious… you name it.
But each and every pick says Christmas to me in some way, shape or form.
