A DIY Mason Jar Lid Reindeer Ornament is the perfect homemade ornament for kids or adults to make this year. This reindeer has a red nose and could pass for Rudolph too! This is a glue gun free craft project and will be done in no time.
CAN KIDS MAKE THIS REINDEER ORNAMENT?
Some crafts are too complex for kids to make or they might require tools that would be too dangerous or difficult for kids to manage.
This DIY mason jar lid reindeer ornament is appropriate for children to make. Young children would need some adult assistance but kids over the age of 8 or so could probably do it mostly on their own.
This ornament is easy enough for kids to make but doesn’t look like a child’s craft! It is cute enough to attach to a gift or give as a gift.

HOW TO MAKE A DIY MASON JAR LID REINDEER ORNAMENT
I love the look of mason jar lid ornaments. There are so many ways to make cool crafts with mason jars and their lids. This mason jar lid reindeer ornament turned out so cute.
STEP ONE: PAINT LID
The first step is to paint the mason jar lid RING brown. Use a paintbrush to paint the jar lid ring with some brown craft paint.
It may take a couple of coats to get it covered well. Let the lid dry well.
STEP TWO: GLUE ON FABRIC
Now we will glue on the “fur” for the reindeer. If you can get a small piece of the fuzzy brown material from the fabric store the result is absolutely precious!
If you don’t want to hassle a trip just for that…you can use any brown fabric or even some brown felt.
Put some clear glue all the flat lid and glue the fabric onto it. If you are using fuzzy material make sure you glue the non-fuzzy side down.
Cut the excess fabric off the back of the lid.
STEP THREE: GLUE LID
Take the lid ring and put some glue inside the ring. Insert the flat lid into the ring so it is glued in there and secure. Let the glue dry.
STEP FOUR: ADD ANTLERS
Grab a pipe cleaner and cut it in half.
Wrap the pipe cleaner halves around your finger to make the antlers.
Fold the straight end of the pipe cleaner over the lid ring and glue them into place.
STEP FIVE: ADD FACE
Now it is time to give your reindeer a face.
Glue 2 googly eyes on the fabric.
Add a red nose. This can be a red gemstone or a different red embellishment that would look good as a nose.
STEP SIX: ADD HANGER
No ornament is complete without a hanger so you can easily hang it on the Christmas tree.
Grab a piece of ribbon or twine and glue it on the inside of the lid ring so the mason jar lid reindeer ornament can hang on your tree.
