HOW TO MAKE THESE EASY GRINCH BATH BOMBS

If you have made bath bombs before this process should be easy and familiar. If making bath bombs is new to you then I have listed detailed instructions below to make the process simple.

STEP ONE: MIX MICA POWDER

Start off with a small bowl and add the 1 teaspoon of yellow and 1 teaspoon of blue mica powder. Whisk these together so you get the shade of green that you like. Remember that the white in the other ingredients will cause the green to be more pastel so if you want it to be brighter add more colorant now. steps for making Grinch bath bombs

STEP TWO: MIX DRY INGREDIENTS

In another bowl, add 1 cup of baking soda, 1/2 cup of citric acid, 1/2 cup of cornstarch and 1/4 cup of epsom salts. Whisk these together and then add the mica powder color mixture and stir this all together well.how to make Grinch bath bombs

STEP THREE: MIX WET SUPPLIES

In another small bowl combine the 2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil, the 1/2 teaspoon of essential oils or peppermint extract and the 2 teaspoons of witch hazel. Stir these supplies together to combine.

STEP FOUR: COMBINE WET AND DRY SUPPLIES

Add the liquid mixture slowly 1 teaspoon at a time to the dry ingredients. Mix it together slowly as you go so it doesn’t start having a fizzy reaction.

STEP FIVE: PREPARE MOLD

Take one side of the bath bomb mold and dust the bottom of this side lightly with cornstarch. This will help the bath bomb release from the mold easier.

It isn’t necessary to dust the other side of the mold because that side will have the Grinch sprinkles and it usually releases without issues.

STEP SIX: MAKE BATH BOMBS

Place around 1/2 tablespoon of Grinch sprinkles in the non-dusted side of the bath bomb mold.

Now pack this side of the mold completely full with the bath bomb mixture.

In the other side of the mold, go ahead and fill it completely with the bath bomb mixture and add a little bit extra to this side.

Press the two sides of the mold together firmly. It may take some forces and grinding to get the sides together.step by step instructions for Grinch bath bombs

STEP SEVEN: SET UP

Now the Grinch bath bombs need to set up. Let the bath bombs rest in the mold for 24 hours.

When you are ready, gently tap the side of the mold to release the bath bombs.

You can use these immediately or store them in an airtight container until they are ready to use!

Course: DIY Gifts
Yield: 4 or 5 Bath Bombs
Author: www.peacelovechristmas.com

Equipment

  • 4 or 5 Round Bath Bomb Molds

Materials

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • ½ cup citric acid
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ¼ cup Epsom salts
  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil
  • ½ tsp essential oil blend desired or peppermint extract
  • 2 tsp witch hazel
  • 1 tsp yellow mica powder
  • 1 tsp blue mica powder
  • 2-4 tbsp grinch-themed sprinkles blend

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the yellow and blue mica powders. Make sure you like the shade of green that results. Remember that the white materials of the rest of the bath bomb mixture will make these a pastel version of what you are seeing. If you would like it to be more intense, add more colorant.
  • Whisk together the baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch, and Epsom salts. Add the colorant combination and stir together well.
  • In a second bowl, combine the melted coconut oil, essential oil blend, and witch hazel together, mixing well.
  • Add liquid ingredients 1 tsp at a time to the dry ingredients, mixing it together slowly so as not to start the fizzy reaction.
  • Dust the bottom of one side of the bath bomb mold with cornstarch. The sprinkle side tends to come out on its own, so do not bother to dust that side with cornstarch.
  • Place about 1/2 tbsp of sprinkles in the non-dusted side of the bath bomb mold.
  • Immediately pack the bath bomb mold with the sprinkles full of the bath bomb mixture, completely full.
  • In the other cornstarch-dusted side of the bath bomb mold, pack it with the bath bomb mixture completely full with a little bit of extra, then press the two sides together, grinding and pressing them to force the two together.
  • Allow the bath bombs to rest in the mold for up to 24 hours before gently tapping the side of the mold to release the bombs.
  • Use your bath bombs immediately or store them in an airtight container until you’re ready to use them.
