WHAT IS CANDY BARK?

If you aren’t familiar with “bark” you are in for a real treat.

Candy bark is basically a sheet of chocolate…that has lots of mix-ins added. Different types of chocolate can be used and the mix-in options are unlimited.

Once the chocolate has hardened it is broken up into pieces and shards. The name “bark” probably comes from the fact that if using milk or dark chocolate the pieces could resemble bark on a tree.

HOW TO MAKE EASY CHRISTMAS GRINCH BARK CANDY

I love how easy this Christmas candy is to throw together. Using some of the sprinkles I have on hand also saves me money.

Easy Christmas Grinch Bark Candy

STEP ONE: ADD GREEN CANDY MELTS

Start off by lining your baking dish (9×9 or 9×13 inches) with parchment paper and lightly coat with cooking spray, if desired. This will help make it easy to get it out of the pan.

Place the bright green candy melts and ¾ tbsp coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl.

Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each increment until melted and smooth.

Pour the green melted candy into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.

STEP TWO: ADD RED CANDY MELTS

Place the red candy melts and remaining coconut oil in a second microwave-safe bowl.

Microwave the red candy melts in 30-second increments, stirring between each increment until melted and smooth.

Drizzle the red candy over the green melted candy and lightly run a knife or spatula through it to swirl the two together.

This makes it SO pretty!

STEP THREE: ADD SPRINKLES

Sprinkle the peppermints and sprinkles over the melted candy. This can be in a random pattern or any way you desire.

STEP FOUR: CHILL AND BREAK

Place the pan in the refrigerator for about an hour or until completely set up and chilled.

Remove the pan from the fridge and remove the parchment paper from the pan.

Drop the parchment paper onto the counter a couple of times to break the bark up into smaller pieces.

Then serve and enjoy! Refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container.
