This Easy Christmas Salad recipe is perfect for getting everyone to gather around the Christmas dinner table. The more simple recipes you can have for the holidays, the better! Plus, the flavor just keeps getting better for leftovers, too!

WHAT TYPE OF APPLES WORK BEST WITH MAKING THIS CHRISTMAS TOSSED SALAD?

I like to vary up the flavor of the apples that I use for this salad recipe so I prefer adding in Gala apples and Granny Smith apples for the contrast in sweet and sour. You can also easily use any type of apples that you want so don’t feel as though you have to rush to the store to buy something new.

I tend to always have some sort of apples in the house that need to be eaten up at any point in time so I’m more than happy to use them for this recipe, too.

WHAT ARE THE BEST NUTS AND DRIED FRUIT TO ADD TO SALADS?

As with anything you should add what you like and what you want to eat, but I really love adding in dried cranberries, almonds, and pistachios. I think that combination makes the best Christmas salads.

WHY MAKE EASY CHRISTMAS SALAD IDEAS?

I love having a light salad option to eat during the holidays since most of the other dishes that I make throughout the holidays are comfort food and a bit heavier in ingredients.

Having a nice side salad or a salad as the main entree is a great way to reset your tastebuds and give the sweets and treats a break.

HOW TO MAKE EARLY CHRISTMAS SALAD WITH HOMEMADE DRESSING

You’re about to find out why this is one of my favorite Christmas salad recipes!

STEP ONE: MAKE THE DRESSING

Add the dressing ingredients to a small bowl.

Using immersion or stick blender, blend it into a thick and creamy dressing.

If you don’t have an immersion blender, you can whisk it with a wire whisk but using a blender results in a creamy emulsified dressing. You can also use a regular blender or a mini food processor to blend the dressing ingredients.

STEP TWO: MAKE THE SALAD

In a large bowl, combine the salad greens and the sliced apples.

Add about ¾ of the dressing and toss the salad.

Arrange the salad on a festive serving plate.

Strew the pistachio, almonds, and cranberries on top of the salad.

Drizzle the remaining salad dressing and top with crumbled feta cheese.
