Chocolate Pecan Pie (without bourbon)

Ingredients

  • 1 Refrigerated Pie Crust softened as directed on box
  • 2 cups Pecan Halves
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 cup Dark Corn Syrup
  • ¼ cup White Sugar
  • ¼ cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
  • Whipped Topping to Garnish
  • Grated Chocolate to Garnish

Instructions

  • Thaw the pie crust according to package instructions. Then, preheat the oven to 325F.
  • Slightly roll out the pie crust on a lightly floured surface and drape it over a 9-inch pie plate. Fold the edges and crimp.
  • Spread 1½ cups of pecan halves and ¾ cup of chocolate chips at the base of the prepared pie crust.
  • In a large bowl, add the eggs, corn syrup, white and brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Whisk well. And pour the filling into the pie crust.
  • Arrange the remaining pecan halves and the chocolate chips on top of the filling. Bake at 325F for 1 hour or until the filling sets.
  • Chill and serve with whipped topping and grated chocolate.

Notes

        • Dark Corn Syrup and Dark Brown sugar give a more intense flavor. Light corn syrup and light brown sugar can also be used.
